The Einrúm yarn, Icelandic wool and Thai silk, combines the features of two natural fibres - rough textured Icelandic wool and smooth Thai silk, into a unquie product.
The Einrúm yarn is developed by architect Kristín Brynja Gunnarsdóttir and produced in Iceland by Ístex.
This einrúm cardigan is designed by Kristín Brynja Gunnarsdóttir. The pattern is designed for einrúm E yarn qualities in three sizes. The body is worked flat from the bottom up. The right front, back and left front are worked as one piece up to armholes. After the armhole decreases the right front, back and left front are worked separately. The sleeves are worked in the round from the top down. The cardigan’s lapels form a sturdy collar that lies nicely over the shoulders. The lapels and the collar are knitted in such a way that there is no right or wrong side when the cardigan is open. It is easy to lengthen the cardigan by adding to the length from the armhole. A pattern of a belt is included for those who want to close the cardigan.
